Play DivX Movies and more in Windows Vista

Visit pcwizkid.blogspot.com for more tips. In Vista and XP , the Windows Media player lacks support for video codecs such as DivX. This has been a big issue in previous versions of Windows Media players. Playing audio files are usually not a problem. There are issues with other codecs such as Xvid, DivX, Mov and so on. Fix it all with the Vista Codec Package 4.7.x

DivX’s instability on XP at the moment pisses me off. Constantly crashes and freezes.

@jeangreyfan not for me :S It is just playing the background sound in “alice in wonderland” but hey , before i got windows 7 codec package 2.8, windows media player and divx could do that. But Divx told me the reseon why i couldnt hear any audio, vlc didnt. But i prefer VLC

I got DivX on my pc.
I was playing a recording I did with my HD camera. But the film jumps all the time.
I got Windows XP, maybe the problem lies there?

i recomend k-litle its a codec for evry thing is small and it works with windows madia player

will this work with wmm..i’m trying to get extra effects for my movie maker..i have done it but as soon as i try to put it on wmm it say’s wrong codec i have downloaded one codec vista pacjage but it didnt work..and some times i have the same problem with media player..saying wrong codec..can you let me know please..Elaine ..thanks.

or or, you can download linux and run VLC and never have to worry about codecs ever again.

hey.. i need help.. i downloaded the new div x web player.. but every time i try to watch a movie online…. the display is distorted… everything else is fine… like the sound and the buffering but….. the display is blurry and choppy.. how do i fix this

just use VLC media player or get divx player.
VLC you can get from cnet of VLC page.
VLC can play almost any type of format

@G4ngst4321 Good! I was worried there wasn’t one on XP. I just hope it works on Media Center too, since I use that alot with my PC’s remote.
