I had the experience in FD6 – fortunately, I had printed the script to PDF – realized I’d gotten the cover page, created it, saved it – and when I went back to the script, it was gone with only the title page there.
I was able to open the PDF, save as RTF, and then import the RTF back into FD – but it was a tense few minutes

I think it only saves the Title page as its own file, doesn’t write over the entire script.

yeah, never save on the Title page in FD – it will overwrite your whole script with just the title page

A tip for Final Draft 8.0 for the pc: Create a pdf by going to FILE>PRINT>”Print to PDF” rather than from the Save As… menu in the previous version.
On Mac OS X, select Save as PDF from the PDF popup button.

Final Draft has just released 8.0! It’s great, I highly recommend it as I’ve used it for years and it’s got the best versatility and functions of the handful of programs out there. (and no, I’m NOT being paid to say that.

GREAT! Short, simple and very informative. Boils it down to the important stuff with all the BS cooked away!
